What the PSS can do to help

Low Vision Assessment

Our premises in Doncaster are being equipped to provide facilities for visual assessments. With a proper investigation it is often possible to improve the ways in which any residual vision can be maximised.

Often things like large print, choice of reading material and optimising lighting arrangements can make a significant improvement to daily activities.

This service is not yet in operation but is nearing completion. This web site will advise when it is up and running. A charge may be made.

Aids to Daily Living

Many things considered essential by people with normal sight are not designed with people with a visual impairment in mind. The PSS has sourced a wide range of items, from time pieces to playing cards, which can help. In addition we stock a range of magnifiers, electronic vision aids, telephones, heavy lined notepaper and large print calendars and diaries. 9.30 - 12.30 a.m. and 1.30 - 4.30 p.m Monday to Friday.
