Eye Health Myths vs Facts

Eye Health Myths vs Facts
This National Eye Health Week, we thought we’d do some myth-busting!

Eye Health Myths vs Facts

Myth 1: “If I can see clearly, my eyes must be healthy.”
Fact: Serious eye conditions, such as glaucoma, can develop without early warning signs and may cause permanent damage before you notice any changes.

Myth 2: “Only older people lose their sight.”
Fact: Sight loss can affect anyone, at any age — from children to working-age adults. That’s why regular eye checks are so important throughout life.

Myth 3: “An eye test is just about getting new glasses.”
Fact: Eye tests are a vital health check. They can detect conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and macular degeneration — often before you notice any changes to your vision.
